Long range fuel tanks
3 tanks fit the 300 Series, listed with the most popular in Africa first.
TL300R1 · 87 litre replacement sub tank
Most popular in Africa
The 300 Series carries 110 litres from the factory: an 80 litre main tank and a 30 litre sub tank on the passenger side. The TL300R1 replaces that small sub tank with an 87 litre Brown Davis tank in the same position.
It bolts to the factory mounts, uses the factory sender and filler, and leaves the spare wheel where it is. Most fitters have it in within two hours.

+475 km
extra range (approx.)
Standard figure is the factory capacity (80 L main + 30 L sub tank). Range assumes 12 L/100 km, typical for a loaded touring 4×4. Towing, sand and corrugations use more fuel. Never run a tank completely dry.
Molly Dixon
TL300A1 · 150 litre independent-feed auxiliary
For the longest range, the TL300A1 adds a 150 litre tank behind the rear axle in place of the spare wheel. It has its own filler and feeds the engine directly, with a changeover switch in the cab.
Run it on its own, or with a TL300R1 for 317 litres in total. The spare wheel needs to move, for example to a rear bar carrier.

TL300A2 · 150 litre pump-back auxiliary
Same 150 litre tank and position as the TL300A1, but it pumps fuel forward into the main tanks at the flick of a switch instead of feeding the engine. A level gauge and empty alarm come with the kit.

Questions
Does the kit include everything I need?
Yes. Every Brown Davis tank comes with the brackets, hoses, fittings and step-by-step instructions. Auxiliary tanks also include the pump or changeover wiring and a gauge.
Will my fuel gauge still work?
Replacement tanks use the factory sender, so your gauge keeps working. Auxiliary tanks come with their own gauge.
Why is the distance-to-empty reading wrong?
The vehicle's computer still thinks it has the factory tank size, so the distance-to-empty figure will read low. Use the fuel gauge and your trip meter instead.
Does it change my ground clearance?
No. Our tanks follow the factory lines and keep your ramp-over and departure angles.
